The 2013 Toad Hallow Pinot Noir Goldies Vineyard is a nice wine. This wine could be purchased at the winery or online for $19.99. You can find it online for $12.99 to $20.
The wine is neither heavy or jammy, but drinks well. It opens with a nose mostly of floral with a hint of cherry. On the tongue, its full of cranberry, raspberry and oak–just as described by the winery. It closes with oak and a mixture earthy flavors with nothing dominating.
It’s a very drinkable wine, just not very complex. At the price range of around $12 at Trader Joe’s, its a nice weekday wine that one can enjoy with a variety of meals.
From the Winery
This is our fifteenth vintage from the beautiful Goldie’s Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. This low yield vineyard creates concentrated, rich berry flavors making this wine both approachable and elegant. Aromas of red fruit lead to bright cherry flavors, hints of cranberry and raspberry with a touch of vanilla and sweet oak notes on the finish. This vibrant wine is very versatile and pairs with a wide variety of dishes. Enjoy!
